Surfshark are rapidly becoming one of the better known Premium VPNs to go alongside NordVPN, ExpressVPN and so on, with fast VPN servers and a good reputation for unblocking streaming services.

In terms of server choice, Surfshark is also right at the top end of the VPN market, currently with 3200+ servers in 100 countries. Of the major Premium VPN’s, only ExpressVPN and Le VPN offer a similar choice of countries.

Therefore, if you need a VPN with servers in more exotic, rare locations not covered by other VPNs, Surfshark can be an excellent choice.

Does Surfshark Have Free Servers?

Surfshark don’t offer a free version as readily or easily as some other VPNs, but there is a 7 day free trial of their product you can try if you know where to look. A subscription is required though.

Step #1Click here to go to Surfshark’s website, scroll right down to the bottom of the page and click on the Free Trial option in the bottom menu bar:

Step # 2 – A 7 day free trial is offered for Android, macOS and iOS devices. Click on the button and follow the steps to sign up on your mobile device. You do need to create a subscription though and enter a payment method for a 12 month plan. You can cancel before your 7 day trial is up to stop this, or if you forget just get a refund within 30 days as all VPNs offer now.

It’s not the best free trial, since an upfront subscription/payment method is required. But you can at least try out Surfshark and see if you like their interface before committing long term.

VPNs With Similar Server Choice

Surfshark is right at the top of end of the VPN market in terms of server/country choice. To my knowledge, there’s only 2 major providers that offer a similar number of countries:

  • ExpressVPN – Almost matches them, with servers in 94 countries (see here for full list).
  • Le VPN – Basically matches them with servers in exactly 100 countries at the time of writing.

In terms of value though, neither of these two match Surfshark for pricing, especially for longer term deals.

Private Internet Access (PIA) come somewhat close, with servers in 80+ countries, and similar pricing.
