Bidefender are a Romanian based VPN provider with a strong commitment to ease of use and customer privacy. They offer an excellent value VPN (especially when you buy codes using vouchers online), but what do you actually get in terms of server selection with them?

Bitdefender offers only a solid server selection, 4000+ servers offered in 53 countries, with 15 locations within the USA, 3 in Canada and 2 in the UK.

For the price of their packages, that’s actually quite decent, plus a basic free version is also offered. Let’s drill down into their server selection in more detail.

Here are some other bullet points to the Premium servers:

  • Up to 10 devices can be used at once

Do Bitdefender Premium Servers Work For Streaming?

Having access to geo-restricted streaming services is a crucial consideration for some VPN users, and it’s actually good news for Bitdefender’s Premium service when it’s been tested. Results have been positive and it provides widespread streaming access.

Bitdefender VPN Premium servers allow access to Netflix, Amazon Video, Disney+, Hulu and BBC iPlayer.

This is a pretty good basic selection of key services, though for absolute top notch almost universal coverage, ExpressVPN is always the recommended service, even though it’s much more expensive.

But given the low pricing, Bitdefender VPN’s streaming access is actually very good value for money.

Does Bitdefender Have Free Servers?

Bitdefender does offer a limited free version of their service, with 3 server locations and a daily data limit of 200 MB/day.

These server locations are not disclosed and are in fact not controllable by the user; you’re just connected automatically to the optimal (usually nearest) free server location, and can’t change it.

Here are the other things to note about their free version:

  • Only one user/device allowed.
  • Zero logs not guaranteed.
  • VPN cut off after 200 MB/day used
  • Not enough data for heavy streaming
  • Zero streaming support
  • Contains ads and upsells.

Therefore the free version is very stripped down, but does offer potentially 3 server locations, though you can’t choose them yourself.
